Nestled upon a rocky outcrop with a breathtaking view of the majestic Swaziland mountains, there stands a well-known studio: the Esra Bosch Studio.

This artistic sanctuary was founded back in 1961 by none other than Esra’s own father. A place where creativity and craftsmanship intertwined, it became the very essence of Esra’s life, and to this day, she continues to work there, pouring her heart and soul into the art of ceramics.

Under his watchful eye, she was carefully guided through the intricate world of ceramics, learning the very essence of the craft. Esra would fondly recall those cherished moments of her early training, with a glimmer of nostalgia in her eyes.

“The scent of clay, the sensation of clay, the thud of clay being thrown onto a wheel, the clear sound of two fired pots, fresh from the kiln, softly knocking against each other. The language of clay which my parents, Esias and Valerie Bosch, shared with me since my birth in 1951. These are the impressions which my memories are made of,” Esra reminisces.

To this day, visitors from far and wide journey to the Bosch Studio to witness the magic of Esra’s ceramics. The studio stands not only as a testament to her incredible talent but also as a tribute to the love and bond shared between a father and daughter. As they marvel at the creations, they can feel the presence of those who came before, the very essence of Esra’s memories interwoven with each unique piece.

While you explore the studio, you’ll come across not only Esra’s beautifully crafted ceramics but also paintings by her father, Esias.
